Terms of use

The agreement for using dewline, in plain words: what it does for you, what stays your responsibility, and what we promise in return.

The short version

  • dewline finds posts worth acting on and drafts what to say. You decide what to do with them.
  • Nothing goes out unless you approve it, one by one or through a rule you set up yourself. What you send is yours to stand behind.
  • Your answers, your lead lists and your drafts stay yours.
  • Scores, summaries and drafts are written by software and can be wrong. Read before you send.
  • Watching is free. Instant, which reaches out for you, is $19 a month, and you see the price before you pay anything.

01The agreement

dewline is made by Side Kick ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the dewline app and this website. By creating an account or using dewline, you accept them.

If you use dewline for your company, you accept these terms for your company as well, and you confirm you are allowed to do that. Our privacy notice explains what we keep and why, and is part of this agreement.

02Your account

  • dewline is for people at work, aged 18 or over.
  • Give us a real name and an email address you can read. We use it to sign you in and to reach you about your account.
  • An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account, including actions taken under rules you set up.

03What dewline does

dewline reads public sources (LinkedIn posts, news, Reddit and X threads, job posts and people changing jobs) and the apps you connect. It scores what it finds against what you told it, shows you the few posts worth acting on, and drafts a first message or comment for you.

Scores, summaries, research answers and drafts are written by software. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and a post can be missed. Treat them as a starting point: check what matters before you rely on it, and read every draft before it goes out.

04Sending and acting for you

dewline sends nothing on its own. A comment, connection request, message or update goes out only when you approve it, or under a rule you set up yourself, such as choosing "don't ask again" for a kind of action. A first message you approve together with a connection request goes out when the request is accepted. You can turn a rule off at any time.

When something goes out, it goes out as you, from your account. You are the sender, so what you send and who you send it to is your responsibility. That includes:

  • following the rules of the network or app it is sent on, such as LinkedIn's User Agreement;
  • following the laws on contacting people where you and they are, including anti-spam and privacy laws;
  • not sending anything misleading, abusive or unwanted in bulk.

05Connected accounts

You can connect LinkedIn on a secure sign-in page, and other apps through their connector links. Connecting an account lets dewline read from it and act in it for you, in the ways the app shows you, and only with your approval or your rules.

You can disconnect an account at any time. The other service's own terms still apply to how you use it, and it may limit or change what dewline can do there. We are not responsible for another service's decisions about your account.

06Your content

Your answers, the lead lists you upload, your drafts and everything else you put into dewline stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run dewline for you, as the privacy notice describes.

Only upload or connect what you have the right to use. A lead list, for example, should be one you are allowed to use this way: dewline watches the public posts and job moves of the people on it, as the privacy notice explains.

07Fair use

Please don't use dewline to:

  • send spam, harass anyone, or pretend to be someone you are not;
  • break the law or another service's rules, or help anyone else do so;
  • copy, scrape, resell or rebuild dewline, or get around its limits;
  • probe, overload or break its security, or reach data that is not yours.

We may pause or limit an account that does these things, as section 12 explains.

08Plans and prices

Watching is free, with no card: you see the posts that ask for your service. Instant, the plan that reaches out for you, is $19 a month. It opens to founding members first, and you will never be charged unless you choose it and agree to its price. You can cancel at any time and keep watching for free.

dewline changes as we improve it. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever stop running dewline, we will tell you by email ahead of time.

09Other people's posts

The posts, articles and profiles in your feed belong to the people and publishers who wrote them. dewline shows them to you with a link to the original. Use them to decide who to talk to and what to say, and treat the people behind them with the respect you would want.

10What we can't promise

We work hard to keep dewline running, accurate and safe. Still, dewline is provided as it is: we do not promise it will always be available, find every post that matters, be free of mistakes, or win you any deal.

11Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost deals, lost profits or lost data, that come from using dewline or not being able to use it. Our total liability for any claim about dewline is limited to the amount you paid us for dewline in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

12Ending

You can stop using dewline at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@get-sidekick.com.

We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other people, dewline, or the services it connects to at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

13Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters to how you use dewline, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Using dewline after that means you accept the new terms.
